ASHOKA SCHOOL OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE

STUDENT FEEDBACK

“Learning by Doing—That’s What ASPA is All About!”

I’m genuinely impressed by how Ashoka School of Planning and Architecture gives students a chance to truly experience what architecture is all about. If you ever worry that studying ends up as just reading books and memorizing diagrams, this place is the exact opposite!

At ASPA, students get to visit real project sites, see how designs come to life, and learn about materials and construction up close. It’s such a big difference when you see and touch what you’re studying—suddenly, all the classroom lessons just make sense.

Building models is highly encouraged, giving students the thrill of creating their own structures, testing ideas, and learning through hands-on experience. The opportunity to work with materials like brick and timber, and to understand construction methods practically, prepares students for real-world challenges.

ASPA also promotes participation in architecture competitions across India, helping students push their creativity and learn from peers.

A heartfelt appreciation to Principal Ms. Kalpana and Director Dr. Raghavendra for their vision and dedication.

Academic Experience and Learning Environment

The academic calendar reflects a well-structured and thoughtfully planned learning environment. The orientation program helps students ease into the academic framework and understand the design approach.

Workshops such as theatre, pottery, origami, rendering techniques, mural design, and design thinking expose students to diverse creative expressions.

A highlight was the one-week Basic Design workshop conducted by Prof. Miki Desai and Prof. Madhavi Desai from CEPT University. Their hands-on sessions and guidance helped students deeply understand design fundamentals.

Heritage walks, site visits, sketching sessions, and surveys enhance observational and analytical skills. Industry visits, including glass fabrication units, bridge the gap between academics and professional practice.

Activities like art carnivals, blood donation camps, and conferences contribute to holistic development and social responsibility.
