It was a National level series. It included a 3-day student workshop/design competition, preceded by a 2-day conference.

The purpose of organizing this workshop was to orient students to smart design concepts and sensitive intervening into heritage precincts. This workshop has been collaborated by The Heritage Committee, Council of Architecture (COA).

3rd and 4th year students of B.Arch from colleges across India were encouraged to participate. The workshop had eminent Architects, Urban Planners, Urban Designers and Conservation Architects mentoring the participants along with guided tours to the case study areas and Charminar.

The participants were asked to submit their smart design interventions in the heritage precinct area, which was evaluated by a jury panel of eminent architects. The conference preceded the design jury, which again had eminent keynote speakers sharing their knowledge in the subject area.
